Query: Rockwell/Dodge, Connecticut

New query:

"My name is Sylvia Madden and I am working on my family history which includes Anson Dodge and Harriet Rockwell. I have Harriet being born in Coventry, Tolland Co., Ct. during Nov.1791 and her death July, 1887 in Jefferson, Ohio.

My source is other people's on the internet, but would like some definite sources to research which are more reliable. I would appreciate any sources that you feel would be helpful to me in regards to documenting proof of their dates of birth, marriage, and deaths. Anson Dodge and Harriet are parents of my great, great grandmother , Nancy Dodge Ball.

Thank you,
Sylvia Murphy Madden"

Query: Rockwell, Ladd - New York

Surname(s): Rockwell, Ladd

Locales: New York, Wisconsin

Query Text:

My gg-grandfather John L. Ladd was married to a woman named Rachel, but we have not known her last name. We have indications that she may have been Rachel Rockwell, daughter of Elias, son of James, son of Adonijah.

Some records indicate that this Rachel Rockwell married a "Mr. Sadd," which may be a misreading of a cursive L as an S. We are searching for persons who know something about this Rachel who, if she in fact married John L. Ladd, was born in New York and lived in Wisconsin in the 1850-1870 time frame.

I know a lot about the descendants of John and Rachel Ladd, and may be able to help some Rockwell researcher bring this branch down to the present time.

Query: Rockwell - Arkansas, Oklahoma

Surname(s): Rockwell

Locales: Arkansas

Query Text:

My father's name was Dale Gene Rockwell born November 14, 1942 . His mother's name was Reba. His father left them either when my grandmother was pregnant with my father or when my father was very little. She then married Mo Mitchell, I'm not sure if that's his real first name. My father had no siblings from Reba but I am trying to find his real father.

My father died almost 19 years ago in 1988 and Reba died in 1984. My father was born in Arkansas, Van Buren I think, but they lived in Oklahoma. I was only 16 when my father died. I have two brothers named Rodney Len Rockwell and Dwayne Thomas Rockwell.

My father, Dale Gene Rockwell, joined the Navy at 15 and retired in 1977 at 35 .

Please help me any way you can.

Query: Rockwell, Drake - CT

Surname(s): Rockwell, Drake, Case

Locales: Connecticut

Query Text:

I have a direct ancestor named Harriet Rockwell-Dodge (1791-1887). I had found that she was a daughter of a David Rockwell and Polly Case of Coventry, Tolland Co, CT.

The info comes from a book called "Genealogy of the Dodge Family of Essex County, Mass. Volume 2, 1894-1898". I have attached a page from this book that shows other family info.

I had corresponded with Mark Rockwell about this and though has hasnt been able to find anything about this David Rockwell within the specified time period, he has suggested that my ancestor could be a descendant of Joel Rockwell and Sarah Easton Drake who married in 1741.

Hoping to get some help on this line. I feel im very close of breaking down this wall. Thanks

Frank Martin
