Query: Rockwell - Arkansas, Oklahoma

Surname(s): Rockwell

Locales: Arkansas

Query Text:

My father's name was Dale Gene Rockwell born November 14, 1942 . His mother's name was Reba. His father left them either when my grandmother was pregnant with my father or when my father was very little. She then married Mo Mitchell, I'm not sure if that's his real first name. My father had no siblings from Reba but I am trying to find his real father.

My father died almost 19 years ago in 1988 and Reba died in 1984. My father was born in Arkansas, Van Buren I think, but they lived in Oklahoma. I was only 16 when my father died. I have two brothers named Rodney Len Rockwell and Dwayne Thomas Rockwell.

My father, Dale Gene Rockwell, joined the Navy at 15 and retired in 1977 at 35 .

Please help me any way you can.

Query: Rockwell, Drake - CT

Surname(s): Rockwell, Drake, Case

Locales: Connecticut

Query Text:

I have a direct ancestor named Harriet Rockwell-Dodge (1791-1887). I had found that she was a daughter of a David Rockwell and Polly Case of Coventry, Tolland Co, CT.

The info comes from a book called "Genealogy of the Dodge Family of Essex County, Mass. Volume 2, 1894-1898". I have attached a page from this book that shows other family info.

I had corresponded with Mark Rockwell about this and though has hasnt been able to find anything about this David Rockwell within the specified time period, he has suggested that my ancestor could be a descendant of Joel Rockwell and Sarah Easton Drake who married in 1741.

Hoping to get some help on this line. I feel im very close of breaking down this wall. Thanks

Query: Rockwell - CT

Surname(s): Rockwell

Locales: Ridgefield, CT

Query Text:

I have found the Rockwell line to be very confusing! My great-great-great grandfather was Jabez Rockwell, b. 08 Oct 1761 in Ridgefield CT. I have him as the son of Josiah Rockwell, married to Mary Scott on 25 Sept 1759 in CT.

I have Josiah born to Jabez Rockwell (b. 1712 in Ct) and Keziah______. I have Josiah as son of Thomas Rockwell and Sarah Rusco; Thomas the son of John Rockwell III and Elizabeth Weed; John III as the son of John Rockwell II and Wilmet Cade; John II son of John I and Honor Newton;
John I son of William Rockwell and Mary Marion Wyke.

My question is, is this correct? If not, could you please show me where I am "off"?

Thank you!

My grandfather was baptized on Easter Even 1886 in Tarrytown, NY.

Henry Rockwell Hunter (born 1885) was baptized at Christ Church on Easter Even, April 24, 1886. His sponsors were his parents, George and Georgiana Hunter, Mary F Spencer, and (illegible) Fritz Rockwell. The clergyman was J. Seldru Spencer.

Can you help? The handwriting is illegible in the church register.

His parents were George and Georgiana Hunter.

Thanks so much!

Query: Rockwell - Elkhorn, WI

Surname(s): Rockwell

Locales: Elkhorn, WI

Query Text:

Hi,

My search started with a Rockwell & Co's banknote signed by LeGrand Rockwell.

The search has shown that Mr. LeGrand Rockwell is credited with being one of the founders of Elkhorn, Wisconsin (the Christmas Card town) in the mid 1800's. Mr. LeGrand Rockwell is also credited with starting two banks in Elkhorn, one the site of an 1865 bank robbery that happened when the town was celebrating the end of the civil war.

I am searching, in vain, for more on LeGrand Rockwell and his family tree. I have found quite a lot in the History of Walworth County by Albert Beckwith, but not enough.

Any suggestions?

Thank You!
